Ludwigia repens is part of the Ludwigia genus. They are native to marshes of Central and South America, where they do well partially or fully submerged underwater in nutrient rich substrate.
Ludwigia repens is a stem plant that is adored because of its broad red leaves, adding a burst of color to your aquarium. This plant can be planted directly into the substrate and can be easily propagated by stem cuttings.
In the aquarium, Ludwigia repens, is a relatively easy to care for plant that requires moderate light and fertilization or CO2 supplementation for best and bright coloration. Ludwigia is commonly used in Dutch style aquascapes and is great for adding a pop of color to small or large freshwater aquariums.
This plant is a medium to fast grower. Trimming and pruning keeps it in its best health and shape.
